What happens if you install a camera in the Hula Hoop of cheerleader?

We started the year with bad news, let us visit Philip after this semester! It is a great loss. We will try to continue, so we will put the last post with some rhythm!

Having seen GoPros subject to dogs, cats, eagles, skiers and jumpers base, this is the best use anyone could have ever given to the small chamber of action: hold a Hula Hoop. Of course, the fact that the carrier ring are a group of cheerleaders also helps. Then the video.

The piece was shot during the making of a swimsuit calendar featuring the cheerleading squad of the Dallas Cowboys.

Actually, it is very curious!

Amazon Prime Air: Amazon’s plan to send packets with drones.

Buy a product on Amazon and receive it in just 30 minutes at home by a drone. That’s the plan of Jeff Bezos, founder of the company, which has revealed in an interview on 60 Minutes. This is still an idea in pure research phase, but in 2015 or before could become reality.

It is the date that Bezos has set for the project. Still, it is something that working (and being approved by the authorities) could not happen in 4 or 5 years. According to Bezos, «and it’ll work, and be really fun.»

Bezos explained that the purpose of this service, called Prime Air, it would not make deliveries of bulky products using drones to destinations within 16 km. Using these devices would be cleaner to do deliveries with trucks or cars and delivery coordinates GPS would be used by the client to indicate at the time of payment.

Amazon founder added that another important aspect would be security. «This can not fall on someone’s head,» he added. Yes, an important point. It remains to see how they solve.

Surprising sphere constructed with multiple wheels in 3D

Mechanical sculpture, toy and small puzzles at once. This is what has created the Proxy Design Studio,a sphere  called Mechaneu that explores the limits of 3D printing from an artistic point of view. It is his first creation of a larger number of objects that will come later.

The study explains that the area has created a unique manufacturing process. Something surprising considering that this is a kind of network of interconnected wheels: if you tap a whole rotates surface. The effect is hypnotic.

The photos below will show it in more detail. The idea is already on sale, you can buy online, but it’s not what you say cheap: from 170 euros / dollars.

Supernova exploded 300 years ago

Cassiopeia A is one of the most familiar celestial objects astronomers. It is a beautiful cloud of gas and debris formed by the explosion of a supernova about 300 years ago, and now you can visit thanks to this spectacular 3D simulation.

The simulation has been carried out by the scientist-ray Observatory NASA’s Chandra X split project as 3D visualizations of the Smithsonian Institution.

The simulation is designed not only to educate the general public, but to help astronomers better understand how this massive star exploded too, and in what direction or how fast energy is dispersed supernova unleashed. The idea also is that the program is open to all scientists and research centers.

Here is a small part of the simulation.

How would see the moon if only orbited 420 miles above Earth?

The Moon orbits the Earth at 384,400 miles away. Because of this, we see it as something small and almost negligible. However, how would see if orbiting just 420 miles away?

The video above, produced by Yetipc1, an amateur astronomy for years, shows a spectacular recreation of how we would see the Moon passing only 420 miles away.

According to his calculations, 420 kilometers, the Moon would orbit faster than Earth rotates underneath, so that would leave the West and the East would, instead of the other way around as it is today. Also every so often we would see between 130 and 90 minutes and take about 10 minutes to cross the sky.

Awesome.

The importance of megastructures

Having the tallest building in the world within your borders or in your town is something that almost all politicians are
interested.

And if this requires putting a mast, antenna, flag, beacon or a broomstick for a few yards, it gets.

So Inhabitat, : «Report Reveals Unoccupied “Vanity Space” in the World’s Tallest Skyscrapers» There are some of the world’s greatest buildings.

Thus, the Burj Khalifa is a skyscraper 829.8 m in height, which are constructed needle 584.5 m 244 meters (that’s enough). The Hotel Ukraine in Moscow is the most conceited of the world: 42% of your height is unusable. The percentage of vanity Burj Al-Arab in Dubai is 39% of its height, 320 meters.

All this just to prove who’s got bigger. The important thing is to show ego and skyscrapers with heights useless vain.

The best selling phones in history

…And the best selling not is the iPhone!

Is the Nokia 1100.

Except Motorola ( RAZR V3 2004), the other nine are from Nokia. And we talked about phones, not smartphones.

The iPhone 5 is around 75 millon units and Samsung S3 goes through 60…

How time flies … And now, Microsoft buy Nokia for four dollars.

Interestingly after the CEO of Nokia, Stephen Elop (who was placed on the job by Steve Ballmer himself) get to sink the company, its stock market value down to junk level.

Good Business

Anyone who has seen you, and now, who sees you.

Oscar.

Welcome!

2013-10-18 13.27.08 Welcome to my second home!

Oscar Ruiz Fernandez is my name, I’m 18, and I’ve started studying this year «Grado en Ingeniería de Sistemas de Telecomunicación»,
usually called Teleco, in the University of Cantabria and nothing else!

In the coming weeks I’ll go write news or curiosities that frommy point of view, seem interesting.

I hope you enjoy!
